Nikkei Asia: California-based Cadence Design Systems said it received a notice  from the U.S. Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security  (BIS) on Wednesday that it was lifting restrictions on exports of  electronic design automation (EDA) tools.

"We are in the process of restoring access to our software and  technology to affected customers in compliance with U.S. export law,"  the company told Nikkei Asia.

Synopsys, another leading provider of EDA software, said in a  statement on Wednesday night that it has received similar notice and is  working to "restore access to the recently restricted products in  China."
