Check https://lunarcrush.ai/auth for authentication information.]  skol [@skol_abides](/creator/twitter/skol_abides) on x 4717 followers Created: 2025-07-02 22:44:15 UTC sn63 @qBitTensor subnet on bittensor is interesting. people wrote it off cuz they thought it couldn't be real. so...don't trade based on those people 🍻. an aside - trying not to post at $tao subnet tops. i hunt value. not that my sharing correlates with my action very often, just being cautious. a lot of people faded sn63 at the announcement because 'quantum' has some mystic aura around like "it's a fable that can't be true, so it must be a scam". quantum computing is very real! the tricky part is separating quantum computing from quantum mechanics and that from quantum physics, and separating both from the over-use of the fantastical "quantum" that's used in TV and movies - which are essentially super creative extensions of quantum theory. here's a stripped-down overview: quantum theory – ideas about how the universe might work. quantum physics – math that describes some of how it does work. quantum mechanics – the rules used in that math. quantum computing – using those rules to compute. the quantum field is fascinating. years ago, after reading a little, i wrote it all off as dream-world. until i found a video on YouTube from a lecture at Microsoft that laid out the linear algebra of how quantum transformation works. proof of quantum mechanics. at that point, i was enamored! quantum entanglement, teleportation, etc. all very fascinating - and it's real! that lead me to quantum computing. after all, quantum mechanics (rules of the math) are just one step away from quantum computing. there's a lot to discuss about quantum computing, including the aesthetic - they are beautiful - see attached image. suffice it to say that physical quantum computers are: - rare - not scalable - expensive hence, quantum simulation. it allows innovation to speed ahead on a parallel track while the physical quantum computers evolve. the quantum simulation industry alone will grow into the billions or tens-of-billions of dollars at a potential XX% cagr (growth rate). sounds like sn63 is planning on having miners provide intelligence related to processing quantum circuits. as @const_reborn said, ai folk can think of it similar to AI's concept of 'inference' - basically, when the model does its thing. they want to see if competition among bittensor miners will improve on the industry's techniques to compute quantum-style. with the success of @chutes_ai and other subnets, seems like miners might just be up to the task. i wonder if bittensor can provides the world's best service on yet another cutting-edge technology!
