Before buying an equities ETF on the ngx 

X. Know they are all illiquid. But they can be a placeholder of value if you don't want to pick stocks. 

X. Compare its Net Asset Value with its Market Price. Ensure they are closer to 1:1, that is, if it's Market Price is N54 it's NAV should be close to that value. This means you aren't paying a premium for the same basket of assets you could have bought individually. 

X. Expense ratio, this is what the asset managers charge, and a high expense ratio erodes the value of your holdings over time.
