BREAKING: Former criminology Ph.D. student Bryan Kohberger pleads guilty to the murders of four University of Idaho students in 2022.

Kohberger pleaded guilty to avoid the death penalty in exchange for four consecutive life sentences.

The lives of Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen, and Kayleen Goncalves were taken by Kohberger, who snuck into their home and stabbed them to death.

Investigators say Kohberger entered the home through a sliding glass door.

He killed Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves first on the third floor of the home.

It remains a mystery to this day why the students were targeted.
