Iran was preparing to mine the Strait of Hormuz — Reuters.
▪️Citing US intelligence, the agency reports that during the recent escalation with Israel, Iran loaded sea mines onto ships in the Persian Gulf. This happened a few days after the start of Israeli strikes on sites related to Tehran's nuclear program.
▪️According to sources, the mines have not yet been laid, but it is unknown whether they have been returned to storage or are still being held on board awaiting orders.
▪️US intelligence also does not rule out that all this activity could have been a show of force or a diversionary maneuver, without any real plans to close the Strait of Hormuz
