This whole Open AI mop up by Meta got me thinking, If Meta can recreate Open AI just by spending say $100-$200mn on comps

( they hired the Scale team of course+ Zuck the goat is there)

Apart from that , AI era looks like zero switching costs ( remember how easily we switched from Google to Chatgpt for search)- what if the value no longer accrues to shareholders but more to employees

Earlier era switching was so expensive for eg, it was not easy to rip open CRM and switch to say Service now + there was compounding moat ( Google knows about you so you are better off in the google ecosystem) + super difficult in Phygital era (for eg, Bharti cant hire top Jio engineers and destroy Jio)

In the AI era, companies can easily hire half your team paying cents to the dollar to employees (instead of buying shares from shareholders like an actual M&A)

What do you think?
