Gas Fees. A Sad and Frustrating Story:

Oh, gas fees. We’ve had a love-hate relationship since 2021—except it’s actually just… hate. Straight hate. Especially after what happened that cursed October night.

The project? Mekaverse.

I genuinely believed it would stand the test of time. I was more excited than Dancing Eddie at an open bar wedding. Wallet loaded. Laptop charged. Vibes immaculate.

Mint day comes. The button lights up brighter than a Meta influencer’s teeth—and I smash it with full confidence.

$XXX gas.
Okay. Painful. But whatever. Mekaverse is a home run, right?
Transaction failed.
Crap. Okay. Try again.

$XXX gas.
Oof. Alright. Breathe. Believe. Click.
Transaction failed.
Okay now I’m sweating. One. Last. Time.

$XXX gas.
I hit it like my life depends on it.
BOOM. Transaction failed.
And then… the dreaded Sold Out button appears. Cold. Unforgiving. Final.

I tell myself, “It’s okay. It wasn’t meant to be. There will be other mints.”
But then—I look at my wallet. Where once was ETH, there is now dust. $1925 in gas fees… gone. Every single failed transaction? Ethereum took its cut like a mob boss collecting rent.

I closed my laptop. Stared at the wall. And for the first time in my life…
…I considered applying for a Web2 job.
