🇩🇪 GERMAN NAVY SIGNS €800 MILLION CONTRACT TO MODERNIZE TYPE 212A SUBMARINES

📍 Berlin — The German Navy has signed a contract worth approximately €800 million with Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) to upgrade six Type 212A-class submarines.

The 10-year modernization program will focus on overhauling critical systems, including navigation, command-and-control, and weapon systems. The upgrade is aimed at bringing the first four submarines of the class up to the technological standard of newer units — ensuring continued operational superiority beneath the surface.
