That gap isn’t about the tech. Here’s my take as a Sonic OG (prev. FTM), in case you care: I’ve been around since the Fantom days, and I’ll be real with you: $S isn’t pumping because it’s just a gas token. That’s it. Sonic has insane fundamentals — 400k TPS, instant finality, sub-$0.001 fees — but it’s so efficient you barely need any $S to actually use the chain. I can run my wallet an entire year for less than ten bucks. That’s incredible from a technology standpoint, but it absolutely kills any reason to hoard $S as a speculative asset. Same as back on Fantom — I never held much $FTM, except what I needed to validate or pay fees. I went all-in on the ecosystem tokens because that’s where the 20x action was. It’s no different now on Sonic. I max-allocate to the ecosystem coins, sprinkle a few alts, and keep $S exposure to a minimum because it’s literally just gas. Sure, Sonic rolled out Fee Monetization — XX% of gas fees go back to builders, XX% to burn or treasury — and that’s awesome, but it doesn’t suddenly give $S a speculative narrative. That’s because the builders get rewarded, not the token holders. There is no reason to hold big bags of $S when you know the chain is this cheap and efficient. So what needs to happen? We should stop shouting “$S is so undervalued bro!” and instead call for builders to come deploy here. Sonic’s tech is cracked. The performance, the security, the finality — it’s top-tier. Bring your dApps, bring your tokens, and we will absolutely ape in. We’ll full-port your roadmap in days, we’ll buy your token, we’ll spin up the hype. We don’t even want more $S — we want you to use what Andre and the Sonic team built, and make something meaningful on top of it. The rest will take care of itself. If I had to name a dream scenario, it would be a marquee AI project — something with agentic bots, socialFi hooks, massive fee flow — the Sonic version of Virtuals on Base or Solana. That kind of project would make everyone look twice and finally drive real token demand back to $S. I’m hyped to be here, but let’s be honest — Sonic’s instant finality is next-level. People won’t truly appreciate it until they realize how many rollup chains can roll back transactions after they thought they were final. On Sonic, you don’t have to think about that — it’s done, settled, final. So yeah, that’s my rant: $S doesn’t pump because nobody needs to hoard gas. If you want price action, we need fresh builders, fresh tokenomics, fresh use cases. Performance opened the door — let’s build the apps that fill the room. Until then, the game stays “player versus player” with the same handful of apps, because there’s no steady flow of new builders shipping fresh things to create more opportunities.
