Newsom on Fox Lawsuit: They knowingly misrepresented the facts. They altered and edited the President of the United States’ statements—video—and knowingly claimed that I lied about a phone call with Donald Trump.

As we now know, Donald Trump lied about a phone call he had with me. He claimed it happened the day before, but in fact, it took place almost four days earlier. He even went to John Roberts at Fox and showed a screenshot of the call. That call was never in question.

They went on to alter the fact that the President said it was a call the day before. And then it was weaponized even further on Jesse Watters Primetime, with a chyron that read: “Gavin lied about President Trump.”

Now look—I can take it. These guys go after me 24/7. I’ve been a piñata for Fox for years. Never once did I think I’d have to file a defamation lawsuit. But this crossed the line—journalistic lines, ethical lines, defamation, malice.

They need to be held to account.
