We have had great deliberations on the progress made by East African Community (EAC) Partner States in addressing the growing burden of communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) like malaria, tuberculosis and mental health as well as the role of Artificial Intelligence [AI] in transforming regional and global healthcare, as espoused in Sustainable Development Goal X regarding "Good Health and Well-being." During the closing ceremony of the 10th EAHSC officiated by Her Excellency Josephine Joseph Lagu, Vice President and Chair of the Service Cluster of the Republic of South Sudan, and attended by South Sudan Health Minister, Hon. Sarah Cleto Rial, Martin Elia Lomuro (Minister of Cabinet Affairs) and Amb. Akuei Bona Malwal (Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation). Others were Hon. Andrea Ariik Malueth (EAC Deputy Secretary General for Infrastructure, Productive, Social & Political Sectors), Dr. Novat Twungubumwe (Ag. Executive Secretary of the East African Health Research Commission (EAHRC), Ambassadors from Uganda, Djibouti, Somalia, Egypt and Zimbabwe amongst other diginitaries.
