However, Aspinall paused to shine a light on Magomed Ankalaev, insisting the Russian doesn't get the recognition he deserves. He stated that Ankalaev “doesn’t get enough respect,” while pointing out how he has “run through everybody” in the division and even defeated the long-standing champion Alex Pereira—yet remains underappreciated. He concluded by saying that Alex should get that one back before challenging himself at heavyweight.
