Bittensor ($TAO): A Substrate Chain, But Not a Parachain

Bittensor is a decentralized AI network that rewards machine learning contributions with TAO tokens. It uses a custom Layer-1 blockchain built with Substrate, but does not connect to @Polkadot Relay Chain.

TAO is not a @Polkadot parachain.

It doesn’t benefit from Polkadot’s shared security.

It operates independently with its own consensus (Yuma Consensus).

The confusion arises because Bittensor uses Substrate, which many associate only with Polkadot. But Bittensor chose full sovereignty to optimize its AI-specific design. (3/6)
