Brazil’s aviation authority, ANAC, has permanently shut down Voepass, a regional airline, after a deadly plane crash and repeated safety failures. This decision came after a long investigation and several warnings to the company.

Voepass, which used to be called Passaredo, flew small planes between cities in Brazil. In August 2024, one of its planes crashed near São Paulo, killing all XX people on board.

During a period of increased monitoring ANAC found that the company failed to carry out XX inspections in maintenance tasks related to mandatory inspection items in seven aircraft between August 15, 2024 and March 11, 2025, which represented a total of XXXXX flights.

ANAC had already revoked, in May, the operation of Voepass but the company appealed and the case went to the plenary of the agency's board of directors.
