It’s also perfectly consistent with the America First mantra by definition. Some commentators on this site, along with an army of random anonymous accounts, suddenly this week decided that not only is non-interventionism wrong, it’s also insane, delusional, and anti-Semitic. And those of us who hold this view are traitors who should never be trusted again. By remaining intellectually consistent and staying true to our own principles, we have somehow exposed ourselves as frauds, they say. The funny thing is that this kind of hysterical gaslighting is only happening here on this site. The comments on other platforms, like YouTube, are very different. And in my personal life, every single person I’ve spoken to either agrees to some extent with the non-interventionist view, or at least understands why someone would hold that position. Nobody in real life is shrieking “traitor!” at people who have decided after XX years of failed US interventions that the US should stop intervening. X has been a very weird bubble this past week or so. Even more than usual.
