$NTRS  Northern Trust  jumped +8.3% after WSJ reported that Bank of New York Mellon ($ BK) expressed interest in a merger. The CEOs reportedly held at least one discussion, though no formal offer was made. $ BK is considering a potential bid, but its shares fell -2.4%.
