At last week’s Stable Salon vol X. NYC event, Mohamedeq put it plainly:

$USDT is the main stablecoin of the Global South.

USDT now represents over XX% of all stablecoin volume, and it’s especially dominant in emerging markets where local currencies are unstable and financial infrastructure is fragmented.

That’s why it’s big news that @tether_to has invested $1.5M into @sortedwallet, a project focused on bringing stablecoin-powered financial tools to underbanked communities.
