Beatrice Askul Moe [@CSBeatriceMoe](/creator/twitter/CSBeatriceMoe) on x 1417 followers Created: 2025-06-16 11:50:24 UTC The North and North Eastern Kenya Development Initiative (NEDI) team, led by Ibrahim Rashid Ahmed (Advisor, Regional Affairs & NEDI), Elly Loldepe (Secretary, NEDI) and Paul Kamindu (Deputy Director - NEDI), reported to my office today following the Executive Order No. X of 2025 which transferred the functions of the North and North Eastern Kenya Development Initiative from the Executive Office of the President to the State Department of ASALs and Regional Development. NEDI is a collaborative program between the Kenyan Government and the World Bank aimed at to addressing the socio-economic disparities and challenges faced by XX ASAL counties namely Garissa, Isiolo, Lamu, Mandera, Marsabit, Samburu, Tana River, Turkana, Wajir, and West Pokot, with a focus on improving the quality of life and realizing shared prosperity for communities in these areas. I welcome them to the Ministry, and together, let's redouble our efforts to accelerate development in arid and semi-arid parts of the country.
