Over time they've been multiple cases of data breaches where users personal info was stolen. Some recent cases are:

AT&T was breached march-April 2024 and 73M records where leaked online. 

23andMe also breached on October 2023 and high personal data was lost. 

HCA healthcare, this one was July 2023 and 11M patients ID was breached

This are just a few cases where users personal info was stolen. You know what's common among this platforms or companies? They all required KYC and users data was stored in centralized database. 

If companies keep sticking with KYC, this would keep happening but @Humanityprot already came up with a solution -𝙕𝙚𝙧𝙤 𝙆𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙡𝙚𝙙𝙜𝙚 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙛𝙨
