XX years of membership and they are garbage. A few years back I had a small amount of water damage that I claimed and the amount they paid me was far less than the increase in my premiums over the next five years as a direct result of that claim--try a 10x premium increase over the value of the claim payment. I now have some new water damage. I called USAA to determine if it was covered under my policy. I told them I do not wish to make a claim, I just want to know if it is covered so I can determine whether or not to make a claim. The mere act of making a claim increases premiums. THEY REFUSED TO TELL ME IF I HAVE COVERAGE UNLESS I MAKE A CLAIM. It's a horrible Catch-22--merely to find out if I have coverage I must commit to something that is guaranteed to raise my premiums, and there is a high probability I will not be covered. USAA was once a company that proudly and honestly served servicemembers and veterans. Now it's just another scam that advertises that it helps the military and veterans while treating us no different than the worst fly-by-night insurers. USAA has become garbage.
