📜 Past: The rise of a Bitcoin-DeFi bridge (2020–2022)

🔹 2020: Founding of BadgerDAO

🏗️ BadgerDAO was launched in December 2020 with the goal of bringing Bitcoin to DeFi. The protocol focuses on tokenizing BTC on Ethereum and other blockchains through so-called "Setts" and "Vaults".

💰 The $BADGER token was launched with community governance. Badger Vaults offered users the opportunity to earn yield on their BTC-based assets. At the same time, the DIGG token was introduced: an elastic supply token pegged to the price of Bitcoin.

🔹 2022: Security and recovery

🔐 In December 2021, BadgerDAO was hit by a front-end exploit in which over $XXX million was stolen. In 2022, the team worked on user compensation, improving smart contract security, and enhancing transparency.

🔹 2023: Stabilization and product focus

🔧 The team restructured the DAO, introduced Badger Boost for additional yield, and worked on Layer-2 compatibility (such as Arbitrum). BadgerDAO focused on BTC yield strategies with minimal risks.

🔹 2024: New partnerships and BTC bridging protocols

🤝 Badger integrated with platforms like Balancer, Curve, Convex and experimented with cross-chain BTC integrations via Thorchain and Rootstock (RSK). $BADGER increasingly functioned as a governance token and incentive for liquidity providers.
