I turned round wood into square wood for the first time on this saw yesterday. 
Spent most of the day with a shovel in my hands but decided to test it out with a piece of dead wood that's been laying for a few years (4-5 by the looks of it) and surprisingly it had a good 4.5x4.5 in it.
