The ASX XXX drifted XX points lower to 8516 (-0.3%) ahead of the long weekend. Broad-based losses with some of the stars yesterday giving back gains today.

Lithium stocks dropped back, $PLS.AX down XXX% and $IGO.AX down 3.5%.

Banks suffered slightly.
