The $9.4B rescission package is a start—but let’s not pretend $601M for foreign NGOs or $1.1B for public broadcasting were ever defensible. DOGE’s $175B savings prove real accountability isn’t about trimming fat—it’s torching entire pork barrels. Congress approved these slush funds for years. 

Now they’re scrambling to codify cuts after DOGE exposed the rot. Want credibility? Cancel every redundant USAID grant and sell GSA’s unused federal leases. 

Until then, it’s just performative belt-tightening while bureaucrats laugh.
