Got a question the other day from a friend:
"How decentralized are blockchains, really?"

It's a fair question - and one we need to ask more often.

The truth is, most base-layer chains are decentralized at the consensus level. But the further you move up the stack - into dApps, bridges, wallets, and cross-chain infrastructure - the more centralized things tend to get.

Many of the tools we use to make blockchains useful (interoperability protocols, DeFi apps, NFT platforms) rely on admin keys, upgradeable contracts, or off-chain validators that ultimately reintroduce trust into the system.

So while the underlying chain might be secure, the application layer often isn’t. And in a multi-chain world, this matters more than ever.

True decentralization isn’t just about who mines blocks. It’s about who can change the rules, interrupt execution, or hold custody at any point in the user journey.

That’s why systems designed to operate deterministically - without centralized watchers, without off-chain intermediaries, and without consensus duplication - are so important.

Which is why we built @CoinwebOfficial.

Not because it’s trendy. But because that’s how we build resilient infrastructure that actually delivers on the original promise of blockchain.

And we're only just getting started.
