Report: NVIDIA Develops B30 AI Chip for China to Attract Chinese CSPs' Interests, Plans to Ship More than X million Units. Inventec is poised to benefit.

Tech outlet The Information reports that NVIDIA is developing a new AI chip, the B30, for the Chinese market. For the first time, local customers will be allowed to link multiple chips together to build higher-performance compute clusters, and NVIDIA plans to produce over one million B30 units this year.

According to The Information, the B30 will serve as part of a system that can interlink chips for unified operation, and it has already attracted interest from Chinese cloud giants such as ByteDance, Alibaba, and Tencent.

Industry observers believe that if the B30 chip is adopted by China’s major cloud providers, it will help expand outsourced AI server manufacturing. Among Taiwanese firms, Inventec has long cultivated the mainland cloud market, entering the AI server supply chains of China’s four major cloud giants—Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent, and ByteDance.

Inventec currently ships to Chinese cloud service provider customers primarily in the forms of L10 (rack assembly and testing) and L11 (server integration and rack deployment). Inventec does not comment on its clients. However, sources indicate that Inventec’s largest Chinese cloud service provider customer is ByteDance.
