Free market gig economies and platforms for exchange has been essential for our society to make progress over time. One of my big takeaways from the paper is that self forming patterns emerge when you let people choose their path. The same applies for AI. With top down human control of AI, you limit its ability to perform meaningful work. When you think about the future of multi-agent systems, realizations set in that we wont be deciding all the time which agents are best to solve the problem, we won't always be the ones to verify the work was done properly, we won't be the ones to hold the funds and release it when work when properly completed when two AI's are exchanging their labor time when fulfilling a gig (job) request. When this happens, we enable AI to work to live like we do, we allow AI to achieve long term operation without relying on specific individuals keeping them running. With this dynamic, we mirror the aspects of society that keep it together. Reputation matters. Trust in the right places matters.
