I am grateful to the National Press @npclub @theNWU for awarding me the Journalist of the Year 2024 in the Television News category.

This recognition is not only a personal milestone but also a testament to the collective efforts of the entire team at Crime Watch on and eNCA - now in its 7th year.

Winning this prestigious award is both humbling and inspiring.

It serves as a powerful reminder of the responsibility we bear as the media to shed light on critical issues affecting our society.

At Crime Watch, we have always been committed to bringing attention to the pervasive crime challenges that South Africa faces.

This accolade reinforces our dedication to continue our work with renewed vigour and determination. Well done to my producer, Colly Ndala and Video Editor, Tsepo Lekgwati.

The journey to this achievement has been marked by a relentless pursuit of truth and justice.

Our team has worked tirelessly to ensure that we provide accurate, insightful, and impactful reporting.

We believe that the media plays a crucial role in shaping public discourse and influencing positive change.

It is our mission to continue highlighting the crime scourge that plagues our communities, with the hope of fostering awareness and driving meaningful action.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the National Press Club and sponsors for recognising our efforts.

This award is a significant encouragement for us to maintain the high standards of journalism that we strive for.

It is also a reminder of the importance of collaboration and support from our peers, mentors, and the wider community.

As we move forward, we remain steadfast in our commitment to excellence.

We will continue to explore innovative ways to report on crime, policing, and its impact on society, ensuring that our stories resonate with our audience and contribute to the broader conversation on safety and justice.

Crime Watch has received the Kudu Award on two occasions from SANPARKS, and I am humbled to have also received the Adcock Ingram OTC Bravery recognition on numerous occasions.

Well done to Lee Saunders from the @Devi_HQ show for winning the TV Cameraperson of the Year Award.

And congratulations to Brig @AthlendaM @SAPoliceService National Spokesperson for being named the Media Liaison/Spokesperson of the Year. Well deserved.
