Eigenlayer slashing will be enabled on April 17th.

$rswETH holders will not be subject to slashing at this time. Swell will adopt a risk-off allocation strategy determined by our Risk Guardian @gauntlet_xyz until AVS's build proven track records.

$swETH restakers on @Eigenlayer are responsible for their own delegation, and should check the Eigenlayer app for their Operator's allocation settings.

Why is slashing important?

The introduction of slashing on Eigenlayer is an important step towards a sustainable restaking ecosystem. Combined with restaking rewards, it creates a carrot and stick system of incentives, enabling AVS's to economically penalize Operators for acting dishonestly or behaving abnormally.
