$DNOPY $DNOPF $DNP.WA Dino Polska stock was a very hyped coming out of Covid, as you probably know, with Chris Mayer and the like sparking the interest. Not that the hype wasn't deserved but rather, it made the stock a bit too popular. Suddenly, you had a whole American investment base chasing this semi-private Polish company which has a minimal float.

As I do with almost all my stocks, I spend hours and hours researching them (and staying on top of research) as I wait for an entry. Sometimes that entry never comes. Sometimes it takes a couple years, as was the case with $DNOPY $DNOPF.

This I believe is the best way to invest; know what you want to buy way before it's even at a buyable price. That way, when panic hits that stock, you're ready to ignore the noise and pounce at the opportunity.

The red dot on the chart is where I bought. It's in my buy and forget portfolio. If you aren't familiar with this grocer, some quick facts:

-Polish supermarket chain founded in 1999 by Tomasz Biernacki.

-Serves rural areas with populations of around 5k, therefore not competing with the very successful large European grocery chains.

-Just because they're small doesn't mean they're a glorified 7-11. They are known for on-site butcher, no frozen meats. Small footprints but high quality selection of food.

-The founder really wanted to never go public, but from what I recall, he had to sell some stock to finance real estate construction (they own all their stores). That represents the public stock. They haven't issued shares since. It's a quasi-private company.

Founder-led companies with proven performance are my favorite types to own. I feel like a partner in the business rather than a speculator. I know that they are spending my money as if it were their own, if they also have a high amount ownership themselves.

By the way, I am 5/8th Polish.
