TODAY THESE COMPANIES BEAT ON BOTH THEIR REVENUES AND EARNINGS PER SHARE FOR Q3 EARNINGS: 

$BAC Bank of America ✅

$PNC PNC Financial ✅

$GS Goldman Sachs ✅

$C Citigroup ✅

$PGR Progressive ✅

$UNH United Healthcare ✅

$WBA Walgreens ✅

$SCHW Charles Schwab ✅

$JNJ Johnson & Johnson ✅

$STT State Street ✅

Outside of all the macroeconomic data, companies have to be putting up strong earnings for this market to maintain momentum.

Nine companies today beat on their top and bottom line. It is a small sample size, but we already saw big bank earnings last week with $WFC Wells Fargo and $JPM JP Morgan showing strength. 

The majority of companies today were financials continuing the positive trend from last week, but you also had a mix of pharmaceuticals $JNJ, healthcare $UNH, and insurance $PGR, today as well that all beat on revenues and EPS…

Not a bad start to earnings season.
