RUBBISH IS BURYING THE COUNTRY

Kiteezi is symbolic of what is happening elsewhere in Uganda.

When we start to passionately defend thieves, that’s rubbish burying us.

When incompetent people occupy positions on account of blood and tribe, that is us going under rubbish.

When Parliament becomes an embodiment of shameless dealing, rubbish is burying us.

When those fighting corruption become the target of the state while thieves laugh, the country is being buried by garbage.

When the judiciary becomes a walking stick of the Executive and Parliament, a heap of wigs garbage is on our chest.

When national leadership becomes hereditary without regard to merit and people’s choice, we are suffocating under garbage.

When we are launching a shabby train from Kampala to Namanve in 2023, we are witnessing a mass movement of rubbish.

When leaders abandon poor local hospitals for citizens and seek treatment from “imperialists’”countries, we are under rubbish.

When leaders take their own children to study abroad in countries of the ‘foreigners’ they call enemies while abandoning their own schools, that is rubbish manifest.

When theft becomes a way of life in every sector, garbage is covering us.

When being a shrewd crook becomes the easiest route to prosperity in the country, our lungs have sucked in garbage.

When integrity becomes a risky and sure way to a difficult life, garbage is at the helm.

When anti-corruption language starts sounding foreign, rubbish has been heeped on the soul of the country.

When people get kidnapped for holding different political opinions, we can’t breathe under garbage.

When young people from an equatorial country have to move to desert countries in thousands in search for livelihood opportunities, they’re are escaping from a garbageslide.

When religious leaders become greedy accomplices in breaking the country, garbage is reigning supreme.

Garbage is burying us under our watch. Where are the excavators? The army arrived first on site, with big guns. Kiteezi is a metaphor. Kiteezi is not isolated. It is a national negligence-driven garbageslide symbolised. It will take everyone’s effort to sort this garbage. You are either a garbage spreader or a garbage manager. What are you doing about the national garbage crisis?
