TSMC will pay NT$668 million (US$20.5 million) for a factory and side buildings in the Hsinchu Science Park’s Baoshan area near existing TSMC fabs and 2nm fabs under construction, media report. The factory formerly made hard drives for Japan’s Resonac, but it ceased operations there. Several big Taiwan firms, including Foxconn, also put in bids for the property. TSMC will reportedly use it for offices. $TSM #semiconductors
