Today, selling for $556/sq ft, nearly 10x LOWER! With violent attacks (including against today’s Mayor @PhilBrock4SM), smash/grab burglaries, homeless blocking store entrances, destruction of parking structures for $X MILLION/unit (including land values) “homeless housing” that takes nearly a decade to build, and the city council’s refusal to allow armed security on the Promenade (because police and guns are bad), it’s no wonder why Santa Monica has followed in the footsteps of Newsom’s SF. The city blames high rents and online shopping on this decline, but plenty of adjacent communities have a THRIVING retail sector because they prioritize public safety. We can’t continue on like this. XXXXXX engagements **Related Topics** [$556sq](/topic/$556sq) [$5200sq](/topic/$5200sq) [Post Link](https://x.com/houmanhemmati/status/1799497251410354466)
