"Headcam video - Soft Rock in Montana (June 2024) Orienteering headcam video from the Green course at the Grizzly Orienteering race at Soft Rock Rec Area in June [----]. Hilly area and warm temps meant I was even slower than usual. My worn out O' shoes didn't get much grip on the pine needles (look for me to fall down on the way to the first control). That's all my body can handle right now. This was just practice and there are no controls. The course is in Bergen Norway. I did the course September [--] [----]. The footing a bit of a challenge. I ran in Inov-8 x-talons. The grip was so-so on the wet stones and stairways. I've no idea what shoes are best for slippery sprint orienteering. I bet orienteers living in Bergen would have some good ideas"

I think that's due to how the GPS track shows up when you are walking rather than running. The image also swings around a bit. That's probably because I was spending more time looking around to keep on line. I did the course without a compass so I probably looked around more side-to-side than I would with a compass. Since I was just walking it goes slowly. It's probably more interesting if you increase the playback speed (1.5x seems reasonable). I walked"

I suggest watching without the audio unless you want to hear some really difficult breathing. I had some troubles in the race. My breathing was terrible (allergy). My left knee was sore but that didn't slow me down given my breathing problems. My left calf tightened up after about 13-14 minutes of running. A highlight of the run was at about the 13:52 mark. I was passing a group of people taking wedding photos. Our race bibs had our names printed in large text. I got a "Go"
