"Juliana trail: day [--] Planinski dom pod Jezo - Tolmin [--] km + Soca Gorge [--] km A sweet but short hike from the second hut back to town. By hiking this direction I am descending into town rather than making the long climb uphill. And I prefer it this way. Most of the hike was into the forest with cooling shade just the last bit was out in the open. Fortunately I hiked towards the river and it turns out it's much colder than it looks I also discovered a rather unique vending machine along the way. "Juliana trail: day [--] Kransjka Gora -Mojstrana [--] km + Pericnik Falls [--] km For the first time the beginning of the trail eluded me somewhat. The GPS came to the rescue and all was well. But later on too the way markings were sparse and I ended up following a cycle track wereas the Cicerone guidbook lists a much more attractive option. So we take a motor taxi to the village and reconnect with the trail there. There's no villages today where you can buy water so we bought some before heading out. IT was an easy and gorgeous day with many lake views. I was temped to swim but after seeing some depressing livestock handling I decided against it. But later on too the way markings were sparse and I ended up following a cycle track wereas the Cicerone guidbook lists a much more attractive option. By hiking this direction I am descending into town rather than making the long climb uphill. And I prefer it this way. Most of the hike was into the forest with cooling shade just the last bit was out in the open. Fortunately I hiked towards the river and it turns out it's much colder than it looks I also discovered a rather unique vending machine along the way.
