The western trail is the most used whereas the eastern is overgrown and indistinct hard to follow. From the carpark off Old Gympie Road a fire break is followed for 100m before turning right. "South Pine waterfall South Pine River rises in the country to the east of Mt Glorious. The road from Samford to Mt Glorious runs along side the early river close in several instances. The river is quick to rise after rain and goes back down quickly also. Two days after heavy rains in the Brisbane area I had a look at the river first from below the major waterfall and then from above.
