"Fifi Hook hack for haul bags Check out all of Brent's cool products in today's Youtube video. Hauling bags on a big wall usually requires a partner to release the bag from below. Solo climbers have used modified Fifi hooks which allows for easy release from the anchor when you are ready to haul. Sometimes too easy there have been cases where the fifi hook fell off accidentally and the haul bag fell shock loading the climber. Brent designed a hook specifically for hauling when solo. "Why are the numbers always wrong Free splicing needle for every order with $20 or more of dyneema. Ends April 24th at noon PST. Dyneema gets stronger results when pulled slowly. they say. So we built an expensive machine for the last few months to see if they are right. They were. sort of. still can't get their results though But 17kN-19kN for 4mm rope is insane We have the best priced Marlow Dyneema online https://hownot2.com/collections/marlow My favorite splicing needle https://hownot2.com/products/fid-splicing-tool π Learn and SHOP at https://www.hownot2.com/ π Best EMAILS on Earth:"

"Could this rusty hanger kill you #climbing #breaktest These plated steel hangers were left on the Pacific coast for the last [--] years. Unsurprisingly they didn't hold up too well. Even thought the outer layers were peeling right off we were surprised by how strong they still were. The metal inside was still pretty good and they broke in the low [--] kN range. Since we can never see the inside of a hanger without breaking it its always best practice to replace rusty bolts and hangers with something that will hold up better. Do you want to trust your life to something that just MIGHT be strong"

"Designed to fail We really wanted to drop big rocks and a bunch of Screamers got in the way. Screamers are shock absorbing packs designed to deploy during a high force event usually a fall. Aid and Trad climbers use them on sketchy pieces of gear in hopes that they will deploy before the force gets high enough to rip the cam or nut out of the wall. For the cool graphs and more details check out this post https://hownot2.com/pages/screamers To establish the force a large climber can put on a piece of gear we had Mike (206lbs with gear) take [--] lead climbing falls with a dynamometer at the bolt"

"Is this TOO strong How strong is a [--] way sliding X if you doubled up a 240cm dyneema sling before making it Super strong enough. or in metric. 110kN. Where would you use a 25000lbf anchor Is redundancy even worth having when your safety margin is 20x π Learn and SHOP at https://www.hownot2.com/ π Best EMAILS on Earth: https://www.hownot2.com/signup π 10% off ROCKY TALKIE by clicking https://www.hownot2.com/rocky"

"15 Knots You Need to Big Wall Big Wall Bible #7 of [--] - http://www.bigwalls.com It's "knot" that hard to learn how to twist your rope in all the ways you need to go up a wall. This ties together a foundation for the next chapters so we can just show you what to do without getting stuck on knot basics. Knots are actually quite easy though. There are about [--] families of knots you will use and honestly only [--] would get you by. Hitches are nothing unless you have something in them and there are only [--] of those you need to know. Friction hitches let you bite a rope with a smaller rope and they are"

"Connect Adjust Slow pull Will the dyneema sling on the new Connect Adjust cut your belay loop Many are concerned about this. It kept slipping then the end blew apart then the knot I tied in it broke before it damaged the belay loop. "How did they pull me back up RopeSwingMoab have their systems dialed. [----] jumps since they started. I'm impressed. We hauled [--] jumpers with 3/4 of a battery back to back on the Z2R + Milwaukee M18 Fuel drill. It's a great portable backup to their massive winch. Just like the winch it only replaces the pulling team not the rest of the system. Rescue teams also use this behind all their PPE equipment in confined space or just to conserve everyone's energy.
