The Cadillac V8s have issues from the factory and GM is actually aware of it it's caused by the way they implemented their active cylinder management system (which helps to shut down some cylinders for improved fuel efficiency & reduced emissions) cost cutting during the manufacturing process of some parts which was worsened by the use of ultra thin oils.
