"Heavy ball screen teams (Bs continuity Spread Pistol etc.) need to have an EMPTY REJECT counter to keep the defense from loading/blowing up the screen. Charlotte and Charles Lee do this incredibly at the NBA level. Bill Self does this incredibly well by FLIPPING ball screens at the D1 level. "At the youth level dribble drive offense is one of the best ways to teach kids the game. It emphasizes spacing push/pull relationship off of penetration and creating double and triple gaps. Naturally this teaches read and react vs a script. I think its easy to fall in love with sets because they often work well at that age but lost in translation is simply playing the game. As a general rule concepts come before sets in terms of development and overall game play.
