We picked up a standard ETL task of extracting about [---] finance and business metrics from about [--] PDF documents pertaining to a companys performance across years. We want an agentic system to parse the documents and extract the metrics as per a given schema. Accuracy is measured as the percentage of the metrics correctly extracted. When we threw Claude Code at this problem we managed low accuracy values of about 17% at costs of about $12 for a run taking over [--] minutes.
