President Trump has begun demolishing the East Wing of the White House to build a $200 million ballroom, despite earlier claims that the construction would not touch the East Wing. The East Wing, built in 1942, houses the President's Emergency Operations Center and serves as office space for the First Lady and her staff. The demolition is expected to be finished by the weekend.
