"You can drive across Colombia but you generally want to be sticking to the main thoroughfares between cities and towns. Colombian friend told me about her French friend who did a roadtrip with a couple of Canadians went for a drive to explore randomly. "Florianopolis is beautiful actually its fkn gorgeous but probably couldnt base there. Living near the beach there feels like living in a small country town. The main city centre is located 20-45 mins drive away from the beach depending on the beach. So you need to choose beach or convenience. It also is very quiet in the off season and super busy in high season so lacks consistency. The city centre itself is also fairly small has the feel of a mid tier European port/fishing city. I think it would not be the best socially nor for dating. On the other hand would be a great place to lock down"
