"Love this design experiment. I've been super into chess for the last few months and it's super fun to see this crossover with design. My biggest concern with this the pattern memory loss. Eg. glancing at a bishop knight or a rook and knowing quickly what the piece is and does. Would take a bit of reprogramming to get used to this but I do love the exploration. Maybe there's a version that sits in between familiar and what you've proposed here. Good stuff"
