"One last point b4 I try to go back to sleep in London (4am) another factor can be that a play that is designed or called doesnt have a great answer for coverage QB is seeing OR is designed for man vs zone & the QB is left with ball in hands to solve the problem And the answer cant always be just throw it away bc it wasnt designed right so many times it can simply be make it work (I heard this all the time on one team I played for when I argued for a certain change to concept knowing I was responsible on the field) Its why I am such a proponent to NEVER design a play that doesnt have answers"

"Maybe Im just sensitive to some of this stuff bc with everyone having a microphone or social media account the noise can get so loud that even those closest to you can start believe it When I was in STL I built my reputation on character & play but I watched the noise even attack that and ppl in my own locker room & organization buy into it Took me years to rebuild the narrative in my lost years Im just grateful I was given the opportunity to quiet that noise & remind ppl thats all it was Not everyone gets that same opportunity so I guess I feel like a bit of a papa bear for them"

"I feel the unfortunate part of the sports business bc of the pressure & lack of patience from organizations & fan bases is that coaches NOW feel like they have to WIN more than COACH they have to have immediate success OVER developing ppl they have to make quick decisions on players instead of recognizing the good & the need for improvement and being able to take some time to COACH them in those areas to see if they can help them become better Thats why most coaches got into coaching NOW its YOU have to do this better instead of IM going to HELP you get better in this area"

"Thinking more about this Offense vs Defense dichotomy in the NFL & it begins to come into focus As a QB that threw a lot of INTs still to this day I dont think its that big of a deal to & think ppl make too big a deal of them (bc most players make at least X BAD plays a game) bc I believe its that aggressiveness thats makes the great great But surely a defensive guy only sees them as a negative not taking into consideration the other side Im sure they loved when we got them a XX pt lead and they could attack and play free So I flip this to my mindset on the defense I used to hate when they"
