"Following Ford and Stellantis GM continues its moves to exit Canada and substantially pull back on Electric Vehicles following the direction of the Trump government. Canada and the US are clearly going in different directions on the future of the automotive industry so its really important that we have other options. The Japanese auto makers in Ontario move much more slowly and will probably wait until the terms of the new Canada US trade agreement next year before announcing their plans. "Joining Rivian Toyota Mercedes-Benz Jaguar Land Rover Volvo Hyundai Motor Group BYD and others GM has announced they will use Nvidia Drive hardware and software stack to offer L3 driving on limited specially mapped highways in 2028 in limited states. Their previous attempt doing it in house with Robotaxis failed. Rivian says their L3 version will be out in 2027 and L4 in 2028. I have suggested in the past that this Nvidia drive package could be the biggest competitor to Tesla FSD though they are a few years behind.
