If I'm correct: the Harley Peashooter was a powerful overhead valve 350cc engine that was popular in racing after the AMA announced a new 350cc class in 1925. The one Benny's astride looks like it has a custom racing frame and maybe a modified pushrod assembly. But note: it has no brakes front or rear. This ride was strictly racing-only and probably about the same age as Benny in 1941. And sure looks like one of the early dry lakes racing venues in California"
