"A resurgence of Birdy would somewhat negate the need to spend heavy on a top of the rotation arm(I still think they need two more top SPs behind Webb to truly compete with DuckTheFodgers). Perhaps thats what the @SFGiants brain trust is banking on: Ace development not purchase. Hayden Birdsongs stuff is undeniable with three whiff-inducing offspeeds and a high-carry fastball but poor command and execution limit the 24-year-old.
