"I was a convoy security commander in Iraq. Most of our missions took place a night and I made all my gun truck crews scan back and forth using these attached to their crew served weapons so we would look like some science fiction entity out of terminator with all these lights going back and forth constantly in order to intimidate everyone. My convoys never got hit by an IED and we did the Ramadi Fallujah Baghdad routes from Al-Asad. Most everybody else in our Brigade did but not us. Luck was part of it but. Look awake look mean and freak 'em out"
