I'd venture to say he's one of the longest shots to win on both the PGA and Champions Tour ever. Never played college golf worked in a water heater factory worked as a mover lived in a hotel for years ran out of money multiple times before finally making it. He had fell out of a certain ranking but the tour didnt take him out of that category. The tour decided to let him complete the event and earn points and he earned XX points with his T39 finish. "The exemptions to skip stages for KFT members has changed this year. Top XX make it into the Tour championship while 76th has to go all the way back to first stage this year. Dylan Wu and Blades Brown are currently 76th and 77th though there is a lot of golf yet to play. although whoever finishes 76th to XXX is still a Korn ferry member for 2026 no matter what happens at Q school the number of starts they will get will definitely be a lot smaller than in years past because XX guys will be dropping down from the PGA tour"

"A clerical error by the PGA Tour has lead to something that I have never heard of. MJ Daffue is currently T4 but he is not supposed to be in the field. And Rayhan Thomas who sat on the range all day Thursday as the first alternate before not getting in should be in the field. The clerical error was made after Daffue failed to earn the points necessary through his medical exemption on the PGA Tour. His last start for his medical was a few weeks ago at the ISCO. (players are given a certain amount of starts to earn a certain amount of points to retain their card when coming back from injury)"

"This week on KFT is one of the best weeks in golf (in my very biased opinion) for a couple of reasons. First of all there are guys who will potentially be future stars Keefer Shipley etc and will never be back to KFT. To see them in what might be their last minor league start. There are longtime grinders that will finally realize a dream of making it to the pga tour. Chandler Blanchet is a great example.
